Big Sam Sacked!

According to the newspaper The Sun, new Blackburn Rovers Venky's were forcing unwanted transfer targets on manager Sam Allardyce that resulted in a break-up in relationship.

Rumours suggest that as Allardyce was looking at signing players like David Bentley, Roque Santa Cruz and Robbie Keane, the Indian owners wanted to go for Brazilian midfielder/striker Geovanni and Rangers striker Kris Boyd which led to a conflict.

Allardyce had earlier threatened to resign from the club if such transfer dealings were forced on him but eventually the owners sacked him.

This decision has angered all Rovers fans when the club's chairman had no choice but to inform him of the bad news.

This is an issue arising when owners think they know better than the manager. This has happened in the past in the EPL. For example: Jose Mourinho was fired from the Chelsea post when the club's Russian owner Roman Abramovich wanted him to sign players who he thought were not right for the club.
