Stanley Rozario Resigns

The fourth manager to be sacked in a year along with Karim Bencherifa (current Salgaocar SC coach), Satyajit Chaterjee and Biswajit Bhatacharjee (current George Telegraph coach), Stanley Rozario defintely will not call Kolkata his city for football.

The coach from Bangalore has not had a great time with a club in Kolkata yet having been sacked by Kingfisher East Bengal in the 2008-09 Federation Cup semi-final defeat. Stanley officially resigned as coach before getting the axe from his club.

Finishing runners-up in the Kolkata League and Federation Cup was an achievement but not at the cost of bitter rivals East Bengal's enjoyment of success.

"Mohun Bagan is a formidable club and top contenders in Indian football, I want the team to bounce back and bring back the winning attitude. So in this point of time, with the greater interest of the club and the team, I would like to step down from my job as the chief coach," says Stanley

The former India assistant coach and Shillong Lajong coach blamed poor refereeing and a long list of injuries as a cause for poor performance in the Federation Cup.

In the three matches that Mohun Bagan have played, they lost two and drew one which did not make the club's management pleased one bit.
